The SSQ Group is one of the world’s leading suppliers of slate products for use by the construction industry; it supplies over 55,000 tonnes of slate and phyllite per year to customers throughout Europe, North America and the Far East.

SSQ is based in London. It has a strong direct presence in the UK where it is market leader; an established network of agents across Europe and a growing network further afield.

Formed in 1983, the group has either a major shareholding or long-term partnerships with some of the finest slate quarries in the world allowing it to guarantee consistently high levels of quality and supply. It holds a stock of around one million slates in its UK warehouse.

SSQ markets its products under a number of trade marks including Del Carmen® roofing slate and SSQ Riverstone® roofing slate and architectural stone. Although its products are sourced internationally, the UK’s principal heritage agencies consider many as being a suitable alternative to indigenous slate for use on historic buildings.
