The Proven Flexible Blade System provides an answer to the age old problem for any wind turbine. Capturing all the power available in light winds but spill the destructive amounts of power available in high winds. The hinge material for the flexible hinge is made of a special grade of re-enforced polyurethane rubber and provides the link between the hub (galv steel) and the blade itself (polypropylene for WT600/WT2500, wood epoxy for WT6000, Twintex for the WT15000). Proven have used this hinge material in all wind turbines since early 2000 and estimate that the service life of the flexible hinge is approximately 10 to 15 years.
